The monument is located at the corner of Llatvian Rifleman Square facing the streets named GRECINIEKU and 11 NOVEMBRA KRASTMALA.

The monument is located, so that it only just ”breaks down” the row of building facades facing the river DAUGAVA.

The monument is made as a spiral shaped tower constructionThe principle bearing consists of a 25 metre high steel construction built from triangles, which again are subdivided into smaller triangles.The tower front is made of 75% glass in different shades of colour, 25% of the triangular planes are made of metal, granite and ceramics.

Internally the tower forms one large continuous space. From the centre of the ground plan an oblique conic column rises up through the space. The column is intended to be made from granite, and in the surface, the history of Latvia will be told, using text and pictures. Around the column a twisted ramp goes up through the space and ends up at the top of an exterior platform at a height of 22 metres.

The ramp and the column start 3 metres below the square and along the perimeter of the tower, there is a ramp, leading down to the ground plan of the tower, where the ramp to the top starts.

The height of the tower is carefully harmonized at 25 metres with the surrounding building’s cornice height of approx. 18 metres. From the view-platform you can overlook the future of Riga and Latvia.
