FLØNG PARISH COMMUNITY CENTRE
The Parish Community Centre has been developed as a story about its own contents. This house refers to a contemporary idiom, dealing with the culture of church building, and at the same time, the house is built with materials typical for churches:
Granite walls, white-washed bricks and woodwork painted black. The Parish Community Centre consists of, due to the windows, a continual perforated u-shaped white-washed church wall reaching out for the church. The open appearance towards the church means, that already at the arrival, you will get a glimpse of the activities. The house consists of a meeting hall and a confirmation room in connection with a kitchen, as well as administration facilities for the church staff and the sextons.
The Parish Community Centre is a competition proposal developed in collaboration with sculptor Bjørn Nørgaard.
