Competition. A proposal for a new public urban space.

The active and lively town life, within the Carlsberg site, begins in the inner room of the building mass, where a very high urban density pushes out the town life into the public town space, dominated by a diversity of open spaces, expressions, building shapes and the riches of materials.

The town life, within Carlsberg, should be like the town life in exiting quarters of Copenhagen and other towns characterised by multiplicity. The strategy relating to space therefore involves a number of different urban spaces, differentiated in scale, function and intensity, such as a market street, an urban square with all sort of cultural activities, surrounded by a variety of cultural buildings and a town park.

The town motifs starting point relate to the qualities of space and architecture already, to a large extent, present within the existing building mass.
