A House – a Sculpture.

First prize, open competition.

A housing development, at once being a house and a sculpture. An organic whole. A house, where art, architecture, workmanship and technology melt into each other, in an equal and even interaction. The organic shape originates from the character of the area, the extent of the site and the location in the northwest part of Copenhagen, with the characteristic block structures. The free unfolding of the block motif is determined by the boundaries of the urban space; the street and the private space; the courtyard.

By means of the gates, the block modules rotate in a lot of different angles and coincide with the landscape and the ten metre difference of the ground.

The 135 flats have been built for The Tradesman Society Fund and The Realdania Fund.

The project has been developed in close collaboration with sculptor and Professor Bjørn Nørgaard.
