ALMIND CHURCH
A project development job for sculptor Bjørn Nørgaard, consisting of an alter, a glass crucifix and a kneeler, as well as new paving.
The crucifix is made of a stainless steel construction, consisting of rhombi weaving from floor to ceiling, from east to vest. In the construction three-sided prisms of glass are mounted, in three different sizes, respectively 10, 20 and 30 cm and in between there are “breaks” of flat glass. The glass elements are faintly coloured like the ecclesiastical year – green, violet, red and golden. In this way the crucifix and the crown of thorns are united. The crucifix stands in apse, and the light from the window in apse, will refract and be reflected in the glass prisms of the crucifix – on to the choir, where the Alter and the kneeler are located.
